The Sad Death of Kevin Ash

January 24th, 2013

As so many across the motorcycling world will be doing, it seems very appropriate that we should pay tribute to a man widely heralded as the most respected journalist in the business.

Our own experience of Kevin was his willingness to listen to ideas and in our case, always see a way to making them work. He was an established motorcycle journalist who wasn’t too big to listen and help so many small businesses like ours.

From my time spent on the telephone and meetings at shows and in pub gardens, it was extremely evident his family was the most important part of his life and our conversations would often be taken up by family talk with motorcycles being a firm second place. Kevin on numerous occasions would drop everything to support his three daughters and offer the unconditional love of a doting father.

The entire motorcycle world has lost a legend, you only need look at the response online to understand how much he meant to so many. You knew a bike review from the ‘straight talking’ Kevin would be a true evaluation of the machine in question! We always went to him to hear the truth about future bike purchases.

Take a look at the Telegraph and the memories of his friends and colleagues, I only wish we could have got to know him even better.

Our most sincere condolences to his wife Caroline and three daughters.
