Spyder Club Provence Fly-Ride Motorcycle Tour

Escaping the British gloom, Spyder Club have just returned from a great motorcycle tour around Provence.

The bikes that joined us on the tour were the Norton Commando, BMW HP2 Sport, Ducati Panigale and Hypermotard, Bimota DB4, Yamaha R1 and Ducati 848; all of which performed marvellously on some stunning roads.

Some historic passes were covered including Mont Ventoux, Alpe d’Huez and Col du Galibier which offered exciting riding and different motorcycling challenges.  The evenings were spent in the warm climes of Provence a pleasant change after the monsoon conditions in the UK!

Next trip will be another sunny destination in Andalucia, take a look at our tours page if you’d like to join us.

Spyder Club Fly-Ride Motorcycle Tours to Andalucia, Southern Spain

Add comment September 11th, 2012

After the wettest summer on record for 100 years, motorcycling hasn’t been the greatest pastime this year, but we can resolve that!

Spyder Club run a yearly trip to Andalucia, southern Spain, during March (and this year in November too). It’s our most popular trip with groups of between 6 and 10 guests enjoying four days of riding, swapping bikes over a long weekend on a variety of excellent Spanish roads to start their motorcycling season.

This year will be our fourth outing and many of the riders joining us will be coming for their fourth time! Each trip is run over a weekend meaning only two days away from work and four from the family. Our guests are well chosen, each person being there because of their enthusiasm for two wheels and their willingness to respect and enjoy the company and riding of their fellow guests and the motorcycles they are riding.

Over the past three March outings to Spain, Spyder Club guests have experienced an MV F4 (2010), BMW S1000RR, two Ducati 848’s, Ducati Diavel, Moto Guzzi Griso SE, Bimota DB4, Ducati 749S, Aprilia RSV4 Factory, Duacti 1198S, Ducati Streetfighter S and 848, Triumph Daytona 675R and Street Triple R, Ducati Hypermotard S, Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC, Ducati Monster 1100 Evo, KTM RC8 R and a Ducati Multistrada.

In November the bikes we’ll be choosing from are the BMW HP2 Sport, Norton Commando 961 Sport, Bimota DB4, Honda CB1100RC, Ducati 1199, Ducati Diavel and the Multistrada (others may be available by then). In March the fleet will see further changes!

The opportunity to ride such a prestigious fleet of desirable motorcycles on roads that have to be experienced to be believed and under the southern Spanish sun after months of a British winter is something that appeals to our guests year after year. They arrive at Malaga airport, we pick guests up and look after them until their return to the airport with a big smile! Come and join us, a four day experience you’ll want to repeat year after year!

Paul S on the Spanish trip 2010: ‘I booked to go on Spyder Club’s Andalucian trip last February and it turned out to be a memorable and highly enjoyable adventure.  I hadn’t ridden high performance bikes for a while but this didn’t matter as today’s superbikes are so capable, many having ABS and traction control.  Spyder Club’s carefully researched routes took us through fantastic mountain scenery everyday on perfect roads that were almost empty.  What a privilege compared with the overcrowded ‘nose-to-tail’ crawl we have to endure everyday in the UK. Mark and Lizzi were the perfect hosts at the villa after each hard day’s riding.  I’m going back again and you should definitely add this to your ‘things to do before you die.’

A superb day with great weather, excellent company and a stunning fleet of motorcycles to try! Nothing different for Spyder Club members however for those non-members who joined us they went away understanding the value of Spyder Club membership and the enjoyment the club can provide.

On Saturday members and non-members rode the Ducati 1199 Panigale, Yamaha R1, Bimota DB4, Norton Commando 961 Sport, Ducati Streetfighter 848 and a BMW HP2 Sport, our Honda CB1100RC would have been ridden however it’s awaiting parts for the front brake, vital!!

If you are interested in finding out more about Spyder Club at an open day get in touch and register your interest, we’ll then let you know when the next one is taking place.

Watch a short film of the day.
